Who Woulda Figured?

Hello Again Everyone and Happy New Year!!

Okay so I'm not big on New Year's Resolutions because I'm in the mindset that I should be improving and working on stuff all year round but, I do have to say that this year, in preparation for making more comics with human characters, and creating more character designs, I really want to be elevating the quality of my portraits and figure drawing. You got a sneak peak of my portrait efforts in my previous post and now we're moving on to figuring out my figures. No no no not my figure, but figuring out figures in general, specifically drawing them with greater dexterity and proficiency.

Prior to starting the figure studies that I'm about to show I was filled with trepidation. Figure drawing has always been the bane of my existence as an artist and after kinda finding my sweet spot with portraits I was wary of moving on to studying figures. Especially considering where I'm coming from! That said, I'm really proud of these! Of course, I feel like some of the torsos could have been longer and some of the poses could have been pushed more so that they were more dynamic but for someone who really struggles with drawing figures these aren't half bad!
